Student pets: Say hello to Binky
Look at this bag of furry fun
This is Binky. She is a fourteen week old kitten.
Named after the star of hit-show Made In Chelsea, the British Shorthair is the newest four-legged resident of Greenbank Road.
Annie Gerrard, third year orthoptics student, spoke to us about her house’s hairiest tenant.
“Tess (Tess Skyrme, third year aerospace engineering student) and I have wanted one for ages so when we found out our new housemates liked cats too we made an impulse buy.”

“So far she hasn’t been a bad distraction. I managed to get the first draft of my dissertation done with her attacking my hands as I typed the other night, so it’s all good for now”.

Tess spoke to us about how Binky has altered her lifestyle.
“She has been an massive distraction from uni work, but on the other hand she is a great natural alarm.”
She adds “The temptation was too much and I am really glad we gave in.”
Binky was far from shy
‘What’s going on here then?’
The half-an-hour I planned to spend at Binky’s new home inevitably turned into a four hour visit as bonding time with the cuddle-keen kitten felt like a much better use of time than working on my dissertation.
