A male student remains in intensive care after he impaled himself on a fence in the early hours of this morning.
It is believed the student, who has not been named, fell from his window onto the fence after a night out.
The student, who was drunk at the time, had forgotten his keys and was trying to get in through a window.
The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning in Smithdown near The Brookhouse pub.

A passer-by fortunately saw the accident and called an ambulance immediately to attend to the young man.
The Liverpool student will hopefully make a full recovery within the next couple of days, after spending many hours in surgery and intensive care.
