We Need Feminism!
FemSoc are to open up the feminism debate with their ‘Ask A Feminist’ event on Thursday
UoL’s FemSoc will be tackling one of the biggest prejudices of today in their ‘Ask A Feminist’ event on Thursday.
The society, which despite its status as relatively new is still kicking up a gender related storm, has gathered an impressive panel to answer your burning questions about the society and feminism in general.
The panel, which includes feminist academics and activists from both inside and outside the university, will be discussing questions posed by students in the Gilmour Lounge on Thursday, October 10.
Lecturers such as Sandeep Parma, Jill Rudd and Michael Gordon will be accompanied by the Co-Organiser of Reclaim the Night Liverpool Rachael O’Byrne and others in an attempt to stamp out the prejudices feminists face today in their battle for equality.
Kate Holmes, Secretary for Liverpool Uni FemSoc, said: “Basically we just want to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding feminism by representing a range of feminist viewpoints, and inspire more students to get involved in feminist activism.”
The event is open to everyone, members and non-members, and begins 6pm on Thursday. For more information, click here.
