Do you think it’s ever acceptable to sing the n-word?

Sorority girls sparked uproar this week after they sang the n-word in Kanye West's Gold Digger and video of the event went viral.

Alpha Phi sisters at the University of New Hampshire were pilloried by students of color for chanting the racial slur. While it seems obvious to say "singing the n-word is bad," many white students at the college – and media pundits beyond – were confused, claiming everyone has the right to sing a word loaded with centuries of discrimination.
