Police appeal after a man was struck on the head with a bottle at Northumbria Uni SU bar

Two men fled the scene after the incident occurred

A man was hit in the head with a bottle at Northumbria University SU bar, Habita, on January 21st. Police are currently appealing for information related to the incident.

The victim was celebrating Lunar New Year at a private event in Habita, where he then fled the bar at roughly 11.30pm, being chased by other two males.

It was then that one of the males allegedly threw a bottle at the victim, which lacerated his head. The males then fled the scene before emergency services arrived.

Northumbria Police have launched an investigation and have asked for public help in identifying the two males.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “We have issued the image of a man who was in the area at the time and might have information which can help. Anyone who recognises the man or thinks they might have seen what happened, is asked to get in touch.”
