Are you interested in becoming a writer? Fancy joining a super fun team of journalists? Or even just trying a new skill? Then The Leeds Tab is for you!

We will be hosting our first open meeting at Dry Dock on Wednesday 2nd October at 4pm for all those interested in joining us as a writer.

From breaking news on campus to guides such as ‘How to deal with a breakup in Leeds’, The Leeds Tab covers it all. Here’s everything you need to know:

What is The Tab?

The Tab is one of the biggest youth media sites in Britain and has branches all across the UK, covering every uni city from Cambridge to Newcastle. Our articles reach a wide audience and, if you write for us, you’ll have the opportunity to write about all things Leeds, such as news, features and more.

A couple of our favourite articles include the piece on when Leeds grad TikToker got £2k of drinks sent to him at Spoons and then got banned from TikTok and our guide to Leeds lingo.

Our recent stories include info on everything Leeds freshers need to know about their halls and Uni of Leeds’ response to this summer’s far-right riots.

But, seriously, why write for us?

Tab graduates have gone on to write for VICE, BBC, Vogue, BuzzFeed, The Times, ITV, The Guardian, The Independent, The Financial Times and more!

Regardless of whether you decide to write two or 20 articles for us, The Tab offers an amazing opportunity to get your writing out there.

If this is your first time writing, it doesn’t matter! Our editorial team will work with you to improve your writing. Plus, the team work with an Assistant Editor based at the London HQ so it’s a great opportunity to learn more from experts.

You may also get a chance to to write for The Tab’s national site which has more than nine million readers per month!

Besides the CV perks, The Leeds Tab is a great way to meet like-minded writers and make friends during your time at Leeds. Whether you’re a fresher or Master’s student, we want you!

So, don’t forget, we’re meeting at Dry Dock on Wednesday 2nd October at 4pm, and we can’t wait to meet you.
