Inside the insane double life of Olympian and Leeds Uni student Keely Hodgkinson

She’s just casually a Leeds Beckett student and Olymic gold winner

| UPDATED

The Leeds Beckett student, Keely Hodgkinson, bagged a huge win for Great Britain at the Olympics, gaining the gold medal for the 800m and leaving the rest of us Leeds students wondering what we’re doing with our lives by comparison.

But now that we’re all completely obsessed with her, and to celebrate her win, here is everything you need to know about the Beckett student when she’s not competing in the Olympics.

Keely studies criminology with psychology at Leeds Beckett

A year before Keely won silver at her Olympic debut in Tokyo, she also started studying criminology at Leeds Beckett, unfortunately, during the lockdown year.

However, she told BBC that she’s grateful to the university for being “so supportive” of its athletes.

She’s got the travel bug

While having travelled to South Africa, Italy, Hungary and Japan for athletics, Keely has also taken time off for glamourous holidays to Rhodes and Dubai.

You’ve probably been to the same Leeds spots as her

In her early days as a Leeds student, she shared pics of her and her girlfriends on Insta. Look familiar?

When she wasn’t out with the girls she was training with Leeds Track Club in West Park. Keely can do it both, so this is your sign to stop using hangovers as an excuse to avoid your next day run.

Keely is a proud Mancunian

Keely is from Atherton and often takes to Insta to share both inspiring athletic pics and classy evening snaps from her days and nights out in Manchester. What can’t she do?
