People are convinced Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner have broken up, here’s why

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s relationship has been a whirlwind and it is now being hit with breakup rumours. To be honest, their whole affair has been shrouded in mystery, all those Range Rovers spotted by TMZ outside each other’s homes and DeuxMoi blind items about Paris Fashion Week.

The breakup speculation all stems from a TikTok video posted by Kylie herself. In the clip, she is showing off her morning routine with her two kids, Stormi and Aire. Timothée is nowhere to be seen. Instead of her boyfriend of nearly one year or their father Travis Scott, Kylie is with her sister Kendall. After seeing this display of sisterly support, the comments section began to become a hotbed of speculation that this video was actually a “soft launch” of a potential breakup, with one person writing: “Soft launch breakup coming????”

Another person commented: “There are rumours about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet breaking up before Dune: Part 2 (sic) though… Not shocking. He was anyway never gonna be a stepdad to Kylie’s kids,” one person wrote.

Controversially, another person claimed that they saw Timothée, who is quite busy with Dune: Part 2 press, lingering in the background, writing: “Guys did you see Timothée’s shadowww.”

Over on X, people began trying to theorize about when a potential breakup might have taken place. They were argued to be still together in late February because they were seen wearing matching Cartier Love bracelets, which cost at least $5,000. However, many began echoing the idea they were never in a real relationship in the first place. One person wrote: “I refuse to believe Timothée and Kylie are in a real relationship.”

Another person wrote, “I feel like the whole Timothée x Kylie PR publicity stunt is slowly coming to an end. I can feel it.” Others wondered if their love story would be a plot point on the fifth season of Kylie’s family’s reality show, The Kardashians, so maybe there could be some clarity.

The PR relationship is a theory that has been aired before as the first reports of them dating were met with disbelief. The general consensus for a long time was that Kylie and Timothée’s relationship was just a continuation of that Hollywood fake relationship tradition, an attempt at publicity masterminded by Kris Jenner. Much of this was put to bed when they were spotted kissing in the VIP section at Beyonce’s birthday show of her Renaissance World Tour. Following this, they were a bit more open about their romance while still respecting each other’s independence. For example, Kylie walked the carpet at the Wonka premiere alone.

After a string of events like this together, Kylie and Timothée were the talk of the Golden Globes with their commercial break PDA. They haven’t been seen together since then, which is not helping the breakup rumour mill. There was that story that his family apparently disapproved of their relationship. They apparently thought that Kylie was turning Timothée too materialistic.
