Mark’s said MAFS UK left him ‘unemployed and single’ and Channel 4 has clapped back

Mark from Married at First Sight UK 2023 has said that MAFS has left him “unemployed and single” after he exited the show early and his marriage to Sean didn’t work out.

Speaking to The Sun, Mark discussed how he’s had to take a pay cut to return to his old job. “When I went on the show, I quit my job and I missed a prepaid holiday that I spent £1,700 on. I left everything to do this, only to come out with nothing. I know it was my choice but it felt like I was mis-sold this dream that it would work and I would say goodbye to my normal life.”

When MailOnline then asked for comment on this from Channel 4, it clapped back with this response: “All contributors are thoroughly prepped for the experience of being on Married at First Sight UK, a prominent TV reality series. We stress to all cast that the series should not be seen as a vehicle to gain fame or celebrity and warn against unrealistic expectations of this nature.”

Mark also slated the twist this year that MAFS UK would be bringing in the intruder couples later in the series, specifically to stir up drama, rather than just have them all marry at the beginning. He claimed the show takes tips from Love Island to maximise the drama potential.

Mark also talked further about the curfew rules on the show, saying that producers brought in a curfew after cast were causing havoc partying to the early hours.

Mark has also unfollowed Sean Malkin, his husband in the process, after things didn’t work out. Considering Sean’s content mostly consists of him posting about what kebab he might order, I’m not entirely sure I blame him.
