Get to know Ella: The ‘feisty’ award-winning model joining the Love Island 2023 villa

Despite saying for months that I’m over Love Island and don’t care for it anymore, the new series is here and yes, I’m excited. We’re finally getting to know the new cast, and I’m ready for a long hot summer of memes and drama. Among the new Love Island cast is Ella, who is a model and definitely looking to bring some fun to the villa.

Ella Thomas is heading into the villa with the original cast, so ultimately over the next eight weeks we’re going to become obsessed with her every move. Let’s get to know her.

23-year-old Love Island 2023 cast member Ella is from Glasgow

Ella Thomas is 23 and from Glasgow. She’s an award-winning model, having been named Female Model of the Year at the Scottish media awards in October 2022.

When asked why Love Island, Ella said: “I’m excited to have a fun summer, it’s going to be good vibes all summer.”

Ella says she’ll bring good energy to the Love Island villa

Ella said she will bring “good energy and entertainment” to Love Island 2023. “I’m a girl’s girl but I do like to get what I want when it comes to boys,” she added. “I’m the whole package, I know what I want in life and I’ve got a big heart.”

She said the boys shouldn’t “play with” her because she’s “wifey material”. Ella added her family would describe her as “bubbly, kind, feisty” and friends would say she’s “got good energy and [is] the one to bring the vibes.”

Love Island isn’t her first rodeo – Ella has been in music videos!

Remember earlier this year when Olivia had every claim to fame? I’m beginning to get deja-vu, as Ella’s been in a Headie One and Burna Boy music video and was once an extra in World War Z. “I was 12 years old when I filmed it and got to meet Brad Pitt which was cool,” she said.

What gives Ella the ick?

Of course, we all want to know what gives the new Islanders the ick. Ella said her biggest ick is guys who sit on Instagram and like every girl’s pictures. “If I can see he’s been liking the girls posts on my explore page, it’s a no,” she said. “I also get the ick if a guy can’t dress and doesn’t smell good.”

She has 15k followers on Instagram

As she makes her way to the villa, Ella already has 15k followers on Instagram. Her account is now dormant whilst she’s on the show, but her existing posts include a lot of selfies and outfit pics, as well as some from her modelling career. Her handle is @ellathomas_.

Ahead of joining the 2023 cast, Ella was asked her favourite Love Island moment of all time

Ella said: “It has to be when Anna Vakili caught Jordan moving to India and gave him a dressing down!” Iconic, tbh.
