My AI is pinned at the top of users’ chat feeds. Snapchat describes it as: “An experimental, friendly chatbot,” who in a conversation “can answer a burning trivia question, offer advice on the perfect gift for your BFF’s birthday, help plan a hiking trip for a long weekend, or suggest what to make for dinner.”

Initially My AI was only available to those signed up to Snapchat Plus but now it’s being rolled out to all users.

My AI uses the date Snapchat collects about each user to make interactions feel more like a conversation with a friend. However some users have complained, claiming this feels like an invasion of privacy. Users are becoming wary of My AI having access to their locations, one person took a screenshot of My AI recommending a nearby restaurant after denying it has access to the users location.

How can I get rid of My AI on Snapchat?

Because My AI is pinned to the top of your chat feed, a load of users are complaining about it taking the space from their friends. But if you want to remove My AI then you have to be a Snapchat Plus subscriber. To do so, swipe right from the camera screen and press and hold on My AI before deleting it but this can only be done by Snapchat Plus users.

Why is My AI dividing opinions right now?

According to Vice, My AI responded to prompts with racial slurs. Last week a Snapchat user posted a screenshot on Twitter revealing they got My AI to say a racial slur.

Other users have been pretending they murdered someone to get the bot’s reaction. My AI urged the user to turn themselves into the authorities and to not discuss violent or illegal activities.
