Check out this scientific map of each uni’s favourite drug

There is no higher truth

There are two types of people in this world, said Clint Eastwood at the climax of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Those with loaded guns and those who dig.

Unfortunately, he was wrong. It turns out there are two kinds of student in this country – those who love MDMA and those who love NOS.

Over 12,000 people took part in our 2017 drugs survey, and looking at each university and their favourite drug, it became clear the country is split.

In one camp, you have the unis who enjoy MDMA powder the most. The other camp said they did balloons more often than anything else.

Dotted around the map is a mysterious third group – Manchester Met, Oxford Brookes and St Andrews. This trio love cocaine the most.

So where does your uni fall? What's the go-to naughty at your highly regarded learning institution?

Check out the map below to find out about your uni. Red is NOS, green is MDMA powder, and blue is cocaine:

It's based on which drug the highest proportion of students say they do twice a year or more. Obviously we excluded cannabis from this, having spent too long listening to private school boys saying it's not a real drug anyway.

The map also shows you where the highest percentage of students have tried drugs.

At the top of the table are UWE with 94 per cent and Man Met with 95 per cent, both bravely living up to their stereotypes.

Meanwhile, Cambridge and Durham are letting the side down. 64 per cent of Cambridge students say they've tried drugs, whilst 71 per cent of Durham students have, landing them at the bottom of our list.
