Annie finally addresses saying being gay is a ‘fad’ and blames Love Is Blind editing
She said they were talking about something else entirely
Annie from Love Is Blind has spoken out about the moment she appeared to say being gay is “100 percent” a fad. She’s had loads of backlash ever since, after revealing that she wouldn’t be over the moon if her kids were part of the LGBTQ+ community.
However, she’s now addressed the moment she appeared to agree that being queer is just a trend, after Nick asked her: “Do you think it’s a fad?” Annie revealed on the Viall Files podcast that it actually got edited in, to make it look like she was talking about gay people.
She said: “No, I don’t think being gay is a fad, period. However, that part of that conversation actually was clipped from another part we were talking about. It says, ‘Do you think it’s a fad?’ Not specifically, ‘Do you think being gay is a fad?’ That was clipped conveniently.”
“We were talking about how s*x sells. We were talking about overs*xualisation in kids’ shows. So, we were kind of bonding over how we weren’t allowed to watch SpongeBob when we were little. So we were talking about how putting s*x into the world is a fad,” Annie added.
As for what she’d do if her children identified as being LGBTQ+, Annie said: “In the pods, they’re asking us hard questions, they want us to find a partner. By Nick asking if I had a child that’s LGBTQ, I paused as I have family and friends in the queer community.”
“I think, my answer, it was that pause that people are really upset about. The answer is, I would love my kids no matter what, I would support them in anything they do. And this group of people are already fighting adversity, they’re struggling,” Annie added.
She continued: “They’re already having to face people that don’t accept them. I would never want to be one of those people. Everyone deserves love, think my answer then was just thinking of friends and family that have had difficult seasons of life coming out.”
