Reality TV star whines that pain of third hair transplant was ‘close to that of childbirth’
I really don't know about that comparison
X Factor and reality TV star Jake Quickenden has revealed that the pain of his third hair transplant was comparable to “that of children.”
Jake recently underwent his third hair transplant procedure and explained that whilst the actual operation was painless, the injection to administer the anaesthetic was “the closest thing a man can get to childbirth.”
He explained: “They are unbearably painful, but it lasts five minutes then your head’s numb.”
Jake Quickenden showed his followers the aftermath of his surgery, pointing out where on his head the 1,700 grafts were planted, for which he had to shave his entire head for.
He explained that prior to the procedure he was growing more and more preoccupied with the amount of hair he was losing, confessing: “You find yourself checking how many hairs are on your pillow, you run your hand through your hair at night and you get hair in your hands and you start freaking out.”
As this is now his third hair transplant, Jake said that his first procedure was to help define and thicken his hairline, the second was to cover a scar on his scalp and the third was to fix some of the hair he got from his previous transplant.
He added: “I’m so glad I’ve had it done. It’s really quick, really simple. I was only there for six and a half hours.”
And whilst some of his followers commented that they felt the surgery was unnecessary and his hair looked fine, Jake responded: “To you maybe bro to me no, constantly adding hair fibres, worrying about rain and wind I wanted it done.”
Jake also shared some of his recovery plan, explaining that he’s not allowed to go to the gym for two weeks, shower for five days and has to sleep upright in a sitting position for ten days as well.
