All the most shocking post-show Love Is Blind scandals you totally forgot about
One star had a lawsuit settled for millions
It’s safe to say that Love Is Blind has had its fair share of drama inside the pods and at the infamous altar, but some of the wildest scandals actually happened after the cameras stopped rolling.
From explosive cheating allegations to cast members feuding online, life after the Netflix experiment hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for everyone who tried to find love sight unseen.
While some couples managed to live happily ever after, others found themselves making headlines for all the wrong reasons. And with so many seasons, it’s easy to forget just how many shocking twists and controversies unfolded long after the proposals.
Mark Cuevas
Season one’s Mark Cuevas didn’t just get caught in Jessica Batten drama during filming, he was also accused of cheating once the season wrapped.
Jessica later suggested he wasn’t faithful during their relationship, which only fueled the fire.
But things got even messier when another contestant, LC (Lauren Chamblin), discovered that Mark was dating someone else while still seeing her. She reportedly suggested it herself in a Reddit thread, sparking huge backlash from pretty much everyone who saw it, per Pedestrian.
Mark spoke out over the rumours of him having a “secret girlfriend while filming.” Speaking on the Be There in Five podcast, via Cosmopolitan, he said:
“I did not have a girlfriend the whole time. I was single before [going on the show]. Now, being a single man, you’re single, you’re doing your thing. I’d never had a girlfriend before… Where was the time to be in a relationship during the experience?”
He added that he did go on to date someone, but it was after Jessica turned him down at the altar.
Shayne and Shaina
Season two’s Shayne and Natalie were one of the most memorable couples of the season, but their relationship took a nosedive after filming.
Natalie later revealed she found flirty messages between Shayne and fellow contestant Shaina Hurley, which she said was one of the final straws. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Natalie said: “I had no idea they had a connection in the pods. I still don’t know what her intentions were… I didn’t know the extent of that conversation until I saw the show.”
The love triangle became one of the biggest talking points of the reunion, and folks were left shocked at how messy things got off-camera. Shaina said in an interview with Us Weekly that she thought Natalie was “trying to make something out of nothing.”
Responding to the DM rumours, Shaina said: “It was strictly platonic. We’re buddies.”
Jackie, Marshall and Josh
Season four brought us Jackie and Marshall, who seemed solid at first, but the scandal that unfolded after filming was anything but romantic.
Jackie was spotted spending time with Josh Demas before officially breaking things off with Marshall, sparking cheating rumours.
She then quickly confirmed she had moved on with Josh, leaving viewers furious over the timeline of events and how badly Marshall seemed to get blindsided.
Zanab and Cole
The Love Is Blind season three reunion was dominated by Zanab and Cole’s explosive breakup.
At the altar, Zanab accused Cole of destroying her confidence and body-shaming her throughout their relationship. The fallout continued long after, with cast members weighing in and people split over who was telling the truth.
Cole’s infamous “Cuties scene,” where Zanab accused him of commenting on her eating habits, only added fuel to the fire, making their feud one of the longest-running in Love Is Blind history.
Jeremy Hartwell
In 2022, season two contestant Jeremy Hartwell filed a lawsuit against Netflix and the show’s producers, claiming contestants were deprived of proper food, sleep, and water, while being encouraged to drink alcohol.
His case raised major questions about how reality stars are treated behind the scenes and sparked debate about the ethics of the show.
Per CourtHouse News, Jeremy settled the case for $1.4 million.
Stephen Richardson
Two years later, another former contestant, Stephen Richardson, launched his own legal battle against Netflix.
He alleged that producers intentionally manipulated cast members to heighten drama, while failing to provide adequate mental health support during and after filming.
Richardson claimed the intense conditions left lasting emotional effects and argued that the show prioritised entertainment value over contestants’ well-being. His lawsuit added fresh fuel to the ongoing scrutiny of how reality TV treats its stars.

Danielle and Nick
Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson were one of the rare season two couples who made it down the aisle, but their marriage didn’t last long.
After their split, both opened up about how filming conditions and the lack of support from production negatively impacted their mental health.
Nick later revealed how tough it was to transition back to normal life once the cameras disappeared, painting a sobering picture of the show’s aftermath.
As if their messy split wasn’t enough of a post-show scandal, Nick’s revealed the lasting effects the show had on him even years later. At one point, he said the whole thing resulted in him being “on the brink of homelessness.”
Irina and Micah
Season four contestants Irina and Micah faced huge criticism from viewers for their on-screen behaviour, with many labelling them the ‘mean girls’ of the season.
The backlash didn’t stop when the episodes dropped. Old clips and allegations about Irina’s past behaviour resurfaced, forcing her to issue a public apology. While both tried to move past the criticism, the scandal lingered long after the finale.
Micah also broke down in tears discussing her journey with ET‘s Will Marfuggi in 2023 about how she was portrayed on the show.
Bartise Bowden
Folks were floored when Bartise, who first appeared in season three, announced he had become a father, just months after starring on Perfect Match.
The surprise baby news had fans instantly speculating about his relationship timeline and kept him in the spotlight, showing that Love Is Blind stars never really escape the drama, even after the show’s over.
