Charlie Kirk held a secret meeting with Kanye West before his death in newly released footage
The contents of their conversation have been revealed
A newly released documentary about Kanye West has revealed that he had a secret meeting with Charlie Kirk regarding politics in 2018.
The documentary, In Whose Name? was released over the weekend, just one week after Charlie Kirk’s death, and was six years in the making, focusing on Kanye’s lowest moments.
Kanye West and Charlie Kirk were seen having a meeting together in the scene alongside Candace Owens, with the filmmaker being in the room with them.
The three discussed culture and politics, with Charlie mostly listening as Kanye and Candace spoke in depth about their experience as being black public figures, and the dangers it entails.

The documentary was mostly shot in iPhone for a more intimate documentary, with the filmmaker Nico Ballesteros commenting on the death of Charlie Kirk following the release of the project.
He told The New York Post: “It’s unfortunate, and may they rest in peace, but there are people in the film who are no longer here with us.”
The 3,000 hours of footage has been edited down into the documentary, with Nico retaining creative control of the entire project, meaning Kanye wasn’t able to have an input on how he has been portrayed.
The director told the Los Angeles Times: “I didn’t make this to tell a story of descent or unraveling.
“I made it to tell a beautiful, deep story of an American figure. We live in such a headline-based society, so I believe this is the body text underneath those headlines. I’m not trying to persuade anyone. I want it to be like a Rorschach test.”
He continued: “I was there as a journalist, documenting. It never really broke the fourth wall for me. I had a profound sense of empathy and he was always polite to me — even a kind of mentor, at least creatively.”
Whilst Kanye West doesn’t own any of the footage and didn’t pay Nico for the documentary, he has seen the completed project, texting Nico: “That doc was very deep. It was like being dead and looking back on my life.”
