Drag Race star speaks out on publication ‘spoiling’ that they’re on UK show’s season seven
They basically reused the season five cast announcement
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kate Butch has spoken out against The Guardian using the Drag Race UK season five line-up for the upcoming seventh season cast tease. Basically, Kate claims they “spoiled” that they, Ginger Johnson and Banksie will be on the season seven cast.
People thought season seven was a secret All Stars season, but it turns out The Guardian has accidentally copied and pasted the old season five cast. Kate wrote: “Thanks to The Guardian for spoiling that me, Ginger Johnson and Banksie are surprise contestants on series 7.”
The new article was simply an error, by the looks of things, and stated: “Start your engines! RuPaul is about to introduce the 12 new queens competing to be the UK’s next Drag Race superstar in season seven,” naming those three queens as names who will “kick off the series.”

One person commented, “The season 6 shade that they went back to season 5 to reuse the blurb lol,” while another penned, “No it’s just whatever guide that Kate was using was lazy and reused the season 5 meet the queens and changed it to a 7 lol.”
The actual correct queens on series seven are: Catrin Feelings, Tayris Mongardi, Sally TM, Silllexa Diction, Pasty, Nyongbella, Paige Three, Elle Vosque, Viola, Chai T Grande, Bonnie Ann Clyde, and Bones. And no, Kate, Ginger Johnson and Banksie won’t be appearing!
The false report was written on Saturday 23, ahead of the new season that began on BBC Three on Sunday August 24. Kate Butch jokily wrote in response: “and who’s the incredibly thin and fashionable one and who is the banksie?”
