Perfect Match’s Ollie shows signs of ‘manspreading’ towards AD, claims body language expert
'He wants to dominate the situation'
Ollie and AD have been one of the successful couples to come out of Perfect Match season three, as they’re expecting a baby together, and are now engaged. A body language expert has now weighed in on their behaviour as a couple, as people notice Ollie’s red flags.
There was an episode in Perfect Match where AD accused Ollie of lying to her when he denied he’d kissed Justine during their date. He later admitted he did lie because he wanted to keep his chances with AD open, and basically stopped chatting to Justine when he saw her.
Body language expert Inbaal Honigman revealed on behalf of Fruity King: “Ollie’s body language here appears domineering, he is spreading his legs, also known as ‘manspreading’, showing he wants to dominate the situation, this is territorial body language.”
The expert was shown a photo of AD and Ollie arguing (below). Honigman added: “He wants to be in charge here. However, he shows signs he is actually terrified. The photo shows a contradiction to his natural need to want to dominate and his fear of being called out.”
They added: “His left hand grabbing his shin shows he tries to cover himself, it is a protective gesture and the flexed joints on his fingers suggests he is tense, and is unsure what to say to win the situation.” They also said he tried to distract AD from focusing on him.
AD’s body language appears straightforward and honest. “She leans towards him to maintain eye contact which shows honesty and sincerity and the most important body language cue she demonstrates, the one clue, is her palms, are turned upwards,” the expert said.
They continued: “Upwardly turned palms are sincere. They say, we’ve got nothing to hide. Her thumbs are splayed, showing honesty, and her hands are brought together in request. She’s asking him to match her vibe and honour her with the same sincerity she is him.”
