Here’s the real reason two of Ozzy Osbourne’s children didn’t attend his funeral
They previously spoke in depth about their relationship with their father
Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral took place on Thursday, with his friends and family gathering to commemorate the rock star, however two of his children were noticeably missing.
Ozzy had three children, Elliot and Jessica, with his first wife, Thelma Riley, who he was married to from 1982 to 1971.
Jessica was born in 1979, whilst Elliot was actually adopted by Ozzy as Thelma had him with a partner from a previous relationship. The third child, Louis, was also shared by the pair but he was the only one of the three to attend the funeral.
Jessica and Elliot have been vocal about their strained relationship with Ozzy Osbourne over the years. Even Ozzy has admitted that he wasn’t a present father to them, as he wrote in his 2010 biography, I Am Ozzy.
He admitted in the book that his marriage to Thelma, was a “terrible mistake” and later even went as far to confess that he couldn’t remember when Jessica or Louis’ birthdays were.
During a 2011 documentary about Ozzy’s life, Jessica was interviewed about her relationship with her father, with her being open about how hard it was.
She explained: “My recollection from my childhood with dad is that he’d be away for very long periods of time, and there’d always be a period of adjustment when he came home, and then it’d get to normality and then he’d go again. So, it was a very erratic childhood with dad.”
Jessica and Elliot were also not included in the family statement for Ozzy Osbourne after his passing, however Louis was.
The statement read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
