Drag Race star Lana Ja’Rae was eliminated from season 17 and finished the show in sixth place. She may not have won, but Lana has stayed seriously booked and busy since appearing in the competition.
Since landing herself in the most famous drag contest going, Lana has been faced with all kinds of criticism. And now, she’s clapping back at haters with four choice words.
Speaking to PRIDE, she said: “A lot of people don’t want us to be happy. They’re trying to take away our queer joy. Now more than ever, it’s more important to be as loud and as happy ever. A smile is the best weapon to have! Kill them with kindness. I kill my haters with kindness… they could never.”
She also had four choice words for anyone throwing hate her way: “Shut the f*** up!”
Lana continued to spill “the real tea,” adding: “Y’all are bored. Ya’ll have nothing to do with your time… We’re booked and blessed! You wanna talk to us… You’re hating from outside the club. You can’t even get in, baby. Let’s clock that tea. Get in first!”
Lana’s unique advice for Drag Race contestants
In the same interview, Lana revealed some unique advice for anyone headed for Drag Race in the future.
She’s not only shutting down haters in one fell swoop, but Lana is also not afraid to poke fun at herself where necessary.
It turned out that for one challenge on the show, Lana had accidentally left her outfit at home. She said: “Don’t do Rosa Parks for Snatch Game. And also, wear pads. Cinch your body and be good at Drag Race. Don’t be bad like me!”
RuPaul asked her: “Is the bus still running?” as the skit kinda fell apart in front of everyone’s eyes.
