Kelly and Sharon Osbourne just broke their silence on losing Ozzy, and it’s heartbreaking
'I lost my best friend'
Kelly and Sharon Osbourne are grieving the death of Ozzy Osbourne, their father and husband, and have now broken their silence on losing him. He died at the age of 76, and is survived by his son Jack, daughter Kelly, and wife, Sharon.
Kelly Osbourne breaks her silence on losing father Ozzy
Kelly shared lyrics from her father’s band, Black Sabbath, and said she’s “lost her best friend”. The lyrics came from the band’s 1972 song, Changes, with Kelly writing, “I feel unhappy. I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,” on her Instagram Story.
She performed the song with her father in 2003, in a version that appeared as a single on her debut studio album Shut Up. The family recently asked people to respect their privacy, after revealing Ozzy was with his family at the time of his death, “surrounded by love”.
Ozzy’s death was announced by the family earlier this week, which read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” it read.
Sharon’s statement was just as heartbreaking
Sharon has recently broke her silence following Ozzy’s death, after Radio 1 presenter Jack Osbourne revealed the sad news and paid tribute to his impact on heavy metal. He said he was “the frontman of one of the most important heavy metal bands, Black Sabbath.”
He also said their “second album Paranoid remains without a doubt the most influential metal album of all time.” The small clip led to a response from Sharon. “Jack thank you for your tribute to Ozzy tonight,” she wrote in the comments. “Bless you.”
Jack, who said in his tribute that “there was no way that, once you heard Ozzy Osbourne, that you were going anywhere but listening to Black Sabbath,” replied, “Sorry for your loss Sharon. Sending much love to you and all the family ❤️.”
