I can hardly believe I’m writing this, but I regret to inform you that Netflix has announced this season of Queer Eye will be its least, after seven years of the iconic series.
The Fab Five will be in Washington, DC for their final makeovers, with production for the last season currently underway.
Netflix announced the news on Wednesday, writing: “10 seasons. Fab Five. One last go ’round. The final season of ‘Queer Eye’ is officially in production!”
Queer Eye cast member Tan France reacted to the news of on Instagram, writing: “It’s been a long, beautiful journey we’ve been on, and I truly appreciate all of the love and support for our little show that changed my life in ways I never thought possible.
“As we begin our farewell season here on D.C., I simply want to say thank you!”
Jonathan Van Ness added: “We are so excited to bring this season to you, and excited for what’s next.” Antoni simply wrote: “Let’s make our last one count.”
The show first started in 2018, with Bobby Berk starring as the interior design expert before announcing his dramatic exit from the show before season nine, and being replaced by Jeremiah Brent.
Bobby Berk recently spoke out about why Queer Eye was met with such success on Netflix, commenting: “We got really lucky to find lightning in a bottle.
“Trump had just become president for the first time and people were really distraught and at each others’ throats.
“We were this happy feeling of five gays walking into red states and getting along and meeting humans instead of political affiliations. It really became a cultural phenomenon.”
