Spencer and Heidi lost their home in the horrific Los Angeles fires. Their journey was shared on social media from the very beginning, which also included Spencer losing the family home he grew up in, too.
Heidi recently told SiriusXM: “It’s like you see a few minutes in the news and then it’s over, but it’s not old news to us. It’s still so fresh and it’s your life. It’s what you spent your entire life building.”
“It’s challenging and we count our blessings and thank god we are safe and healthy and we have each other and I always say, Spencer is my home and my family is my home and it is things that we can replace,” she added.
The ’emotional’ couple still can’t afford to rebuild it
Despite all their attempts to make more money and rebuild their home in Los Angeles, Spencer and Heidi have been unable to do so. Heidi recently told SiriusXM: “It’s a safe haven from the world.”
She added, “For us, it’s what we, you know, we still had a mortgage on our house, but we saved up as much as we could to put a down payment on it and it was a smaller house, so we financially can’t rebuild our house.”
“We can’t buy a new house. So people don’t realize, it’s like, “Oh yeah, it’s a nice community and a house.” There’s just so much more to that and it is really hard and a lot of challenges that you continue to face,” she continued.
