All the desperate attempts Nick and Vanessa Lachey made to get famous before Love Is Blind
Can they please stop trying to make themselves relevant?!
Nick and Vanessa Lachey are instantly recognisable these days for their many years of hosting Love Is Blind. The twosome is pretty much synonymous with the show at this point, and it turns out getting the gig was a “dream come true” for them. Before their Netflix stardom, though, both Nick and Vanessa made many attempts to find fame and get themselves in front of the cameras.
Vanessa Lachey was a pageant queen
Long before she ended up mediating who backstabbed who and which participant cheated with another on Love Is Blind, Vanessa made a name for herself as a pageant queen.
She was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen USA and went on to become Miss Teen USA in 1998.
Vanessa also had some modelling moments in her career. She’s graced the pages of magazines including Maxim and People in her time.
Nick’s wife also partnered with some clothing and beauty brands in the early 2000s, like Bongo Jeans and Flirt! Cosmetics.
While Vanessa was busy with pageants and modelling gigs, it seems Nick was taking to the mic and warming up his vocal chords.
He broke into the entertainment world as the lead singer of boyband 98 Degrees.
Nick and Vanessa found further fame on TV
After modelling, it looks like Vanessa strategically began placing herself on a different kind of set.
She decided to opt for TV over photoshoots and landed some small roles on TV.
The Love Is Blind star was in That’s Life, City Girls, 30 Rock, The Bold and the Beautiful, Psych, and Hawaii Five-O.
Vanessa also played Ashlee in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
She made a foray into the movie world, too, and played Amy in the parody film Disaster Movie in 2008.
One of Nick’s earlier career moves also saw him on TV, he and his ex wife, Jessica Simpson, appeared in their own reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica from 2003 to 2005.
Nick also went on to appear in regular TV shows like Charmed, and recently he was on The Masked Singer.
Like his wife, he had some small movie roles in Bewitched, The Hard Easy, and Rise: Blood Hunter – we’re not sure, either.
Vanessa and Nick’s real desire is presenting
By the looks of her career moves, Vanessa’s real aim in life was to be a TV show host.
In the early 2000s, she began hosting MTV’s The Morning After and Total Request Live (where she met Nick).
She then went on to become a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and was a finalist in E!’s competition to become host of Wild On!.
For two years, Vanessa also hosted True Beauty on ABC as well as a game show on the network called Wipeout.
Nick has also landed some hosting jobs in his time, including Live with Kelly and Mark, Miss USA, Sugar Rush, The Winner Is, High School Musical: Get in the Picture, The Sing-Off on NBC and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live.
Now, though, the two are loving life as Love Is Blind hosts, and they’ve topped things off by bagging the same role on the Ultimatum, too.
Speaking on CBS Sunday Morning, the couple said there was “no hesitation” when it came to hosting Love Is Blind as a couple.
Vanessa added that the role is a “dream come true,” and that they’re “making their marriage stronger” by working together.
