Right, so what did Kanye’s cousin do that means he received a double life sentence in jail?
He was convicted when he was just 17
Kanye West recently revealed the meaning behind his newest song, COUSINS, during one of his social media outbursts, alongside revealing his cousin was convicted of murder and is currently in jail.
He tweeted: “This song is called COUSINS about my cousin that’s locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn’t ‘look at dirty magazines together’ anymore.
“Perhaps in my self-centred mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was six and then we acted out what we saw.”

The identity of Kanye’s cousin has never been revealed to the public, however, both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have previously opened up about his crimes.
During the 2020 TV show, Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, Kim revealed that Kanye had a cousin who was convicted of murder at 17 and is currently serving a double life sentence.
Kim spoke to Marc Howard, the president of the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice and director of Georgetown University’s Prisons and Justice Initiative.
She explained that Kanye’s “cousin has a double life sentence for a murder that he committed when he was 17.”

As for how Kanye’s aunt felt about her son’s punishment, Kim added: “She’s like, ‘I’m not even that distraught anymore. Like, that’s just what happens to the kids in our neighbourhood.’ There’s just no other choice.”
Kanye West previously brought up his cousin during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2018, where he was discussing looking at Donald Trump with love despite the things he’s done.
He used his cousin as an example, saying: “My cousin is locked up for murder and I love him. So he did a bad thing, but I still love him.”
