Love Is Blind cast member reveals producers asked them to go on show TWICE before this season
They've been after them for years!
So it turns out that one of the cast members from Love Is Blind was already asked not once, but twice, to appear on the show and had declined both times. As for who the Love Is Blind producers were so keen to get their hands on? Well, none other than Joey, who eventually admitted defeat and appeared in season eight of Love Is Blind.
Joey appeared on the Jason Show to explain exactly how he initially got scouted for Love Is Blind, revealing: “They actually called me, and I denied them twice because I was kind of seeing someone at the time at that point, so I was like ‘nah it’s not going to work.’ That relationship didn’t work out, and the third time was a charm.
“My sisters were actually a big part of it because they were like, ‘Joey you’ve got to this,’ and I was like ‘I don’t know, I don’t know,’ and they’re like, ‘you have the personality for this, you will have fun.'” And so I was like, ‘alright, I’ll give it a shot,’ and I reached back out to him and here I am.”
Is this further proof that Joey only appeared in Love Is Blind for fame? After his audition tape for The Bachelor was unearthed and some shocking deleted Love Is Blind scenes were released, some viewers are pretty sure it was only on the show for fame.
In the deleted scenes, Joey’s friend Stef told Monica they were “amazed” that Joey had even decided to go on Love Is Blind. She said: “We’re all kind of… I guess ‘amazed’ is the word because Joey has always had some trepidations about marriage, just because of his past.”
Monica looked shocked by Stef’s admission and replied: “Oh, I didn’t know about this at all.”
The other girls who Monica was with echoed Stef’s words, saying: “It was always a big topic of conversation of, ‘where do you see yourself?’”
Stef added: “That’s the biggest commitment to him, too, so the fact that he met someone and is serious about it and serious about it is a big deal.”
The clip then cuts to Joey having a conversation with his guy friends about Monica and his whole Love Is Blind experience so far. One of his friends, Scott, also expressed his shock at the thought of Joey getting married.
He told him: “You in the past have also been not interested in getting married at times, and you’ve been vocal on that. And so, going through this so fast all of a sudden. That seems odd.”
