This January, the RHONJ cameras may not be rolling but the drama is still coming on strong from the show’s cast. The Bravo show ladies are well known for being particularly explosive – cue a flashback to Teresa Giudice’s infamous table flip – but now it turns out even the most mundane of tasks can turn into huge dramas for the cast.
Jennifer Aydin hit the headlines this New Year when she was accused of being very rude to Jersey Mike’s staff. Video footage of a dispute between Jen and the staff went viral but now the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is taking to the mic herself to tell her side of the story.
Jen Aydin’s Jersey Mike’s drama
As with any story, there are usually two sides, and then the truth.
This January, Jennifer began taking to Instagram Stories to show how she was being served at a sandwich chain called Jersey Mike’s.
The reality TV star is adamant she “wasn’t rude” to staff, but they have a different opinion.
Mutiple members of staff took to social media after Jen’s visit to complain about her behavior.
One server explains on TikTok that Jen “kept changing her order” and was asked to queue again after asking for another sub. Jen says she started recording when staff “refused to make an additional sandwich” and was outraged she was asked to get in line again.
Apparently, Jen threatened to “sue” and told the staff she was a “celebrity.”
Speaking to Page Six, Jen says, on reflection, she shouldn’t have put the employees on blast, but still stands by her opinion of receiving bad customer service.
Jennifer defends herself – ‘I’m just a mom’
Since the Jersey Mike’s drama played out, Jen has since spoken to Us Weekly.
“Hindsight is 20/20 but I did not know it was gonna go that way… I was not rude to the Jersey Mike’s staff at all,” she tells the outlet.
“I was trying to be polite…” Jen continues, adding how she was “quiet as a church mouse” while waiting a long time for her sandwiches.
“I wasn’t triggered until this person that I didn’t know doubled down on being rude to me… I’m just a mom trying to get some sandwiches for her kids, so I yelled at the guy that he was an ‘a hole’, I walked away…”
Jen called out the staff’s “customer service” explaining how she “grew up in retail.”
“I know what it’s like to give customer service…” she adds.
Jen calls herself a “D List celebrity… since people are so angry about it… I’m a public figure… I’m a mom, I’m trying to get my kids fed… they refused my sandwich.”
Explaining how she was an “angry mom,” she says she regrets posting to her IG Story about it: “In my fury… I called a woman an eighty-year-old and I apologize for that.”
She adds how she’s learning how she “shouldn’t respond to things in the heat of moment… I was a paying customer who didn’t get the sandwich for her kid.”
