The Voice Australia contestant, Mol Turner, is slamming fans who say she has a “horrible sound” and “causes vocal damage”. The metal vocalist has been urged to ignore haters, but responded anyway.
Just 17 years old, The Voice Australia star Mol Turner, from Wollongong, New South Wales, first took judges’ breath away with her metal core rendition of Britney Spears’ Toxic.
Mol Turner slams hate comments
Mol Turner, who is currently competing on The Voice Australia, is responding to hate comments online. In a TikTok video, she spoke about how many trolls have been reacting to her unique voice.
When a viewer said her audition was “horrible and scary,” she said the only thing that scared her was how they misspelt the word ‘scary’. Another commented saying she is “in pain” and gives a “horrible sound”.
Turner replied in the video, which has over 90 comments, “The only thing that is causing me pain is the hundreds of comments saying I’m doing vocal damage. I can assure you I am fine.”
‘They tried to silence me’
Despite being told not to respond to hateful comments, Mol went ahead and film a part two of her responding to trolls. She said, “They tried to silence me, they said, ‘Do not respond to hate comments’.”
Judge Adam Lambert particularly loved Turner’s voice – but not enough to turn his chair – as well as Kate, whose team she’s now on. At the last moment, Kate pressed her button!
While Mol says it’s “safe to say some absolutely hated” her audition, metal core fanatics are obsessed. One wrote, “You’ve got skill and talent, haters will hate because it’s something they don’t understand.”
