RHOC’s Alexis labels Shannon ‘obsessed’ but fans think she’s the one on a ‘downward spiral’

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 has been hugely anticipated and now the episodes have finally kicked off. Not only are there some OGs in the house including Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow, but newcomers are bringing their A-game to the Bravo show as well as returning cast members.
Alexis Bellino appeared on the show from seasons 5 to 8 and is now back as a “friend.” More familiar faces are making guest appearances in season 18 including OG of the OC Vicki Gunvalson and Jeana Keough. Drama can be expected throughout the new Real Housewives of Orange County episodes but things really get off to an awkward start as Alexis and Shannon Beador come face-to-face at Heather’s party in episode 2.
Alexis labels Shannon ‘obsessed’
During RHOC, the ladies admit it must be hard for both Shannon and Alexis to be around one another considering Alexis is currently in a relationship with Shannon’s ex, John Janssen.
Alexis says: “It’s difficult for me to see his ex-girlfriend and be in the same room as his ex-girlfriend.”
Shannon also previously spoke on Jeff Lewis Live about how the cast trips were split this season due to some of the cast members not getting along.
Outside of the show, Heather Dubrow said it “was a lot” for Shannon as she had to “walk into this situation with her ex’s new girlfriend who’s also in our friend group, who’s a friend of mine,” speaking to Access Hollywood this July.
Since the show kicked off, Alexis took to Instagram to say she thinks Shannon is “obsessed” with John.
Taking to the ‘gram on July 13, Alexis shared a screenshot of an article from People Magazine and wrote:
“…Shannon your obsession with John needs to end.”
The RHOC star describes her relationship with John as a “saving grace” for Shannon. Alexis adds: “Please stop exploiting us in your manipulative sympathy tour.”
Fans are adamant no one’s ‘obsessed’
As Alexis writes of how she and John “just want to live happily in peace, and wish Shannon the same,” fans are taking to a Reddit thread to weigh in on the drama.
Many shut down the idea that anyone else is “interested” in John.
As Alexis suggests Shannon is “obsessed,” one fan comments: “The delulu is real! Alexis, no one in the OC, outside of the OC, watching the show, not watching the show, with initials OC, without the initials OC, white, black, purple, green, gay, straight, extraterrestrial, human, animal, insect or plant wants that man. You’re good girl. Dayum.”
More add that the IG post could’ve been a step too far, commenting: “Putting Crazy as the backing track to this is wild. The only one crazy here is anybody who is fighting to be with John.”
Another says: “I don’t think this was the reaction Alexis thought she would get from the fans I’d not come back next season.”
A fan gives their two cents on Reddit, commenting: “I think it’s Alexis who’s on a downward spiral, not Shannon.”
However, some are team Alexis, writing: “I will forever mention this: I met her a couple of weeks ago, and she was beyond kind and gracious. Fan for life!”
