When Louise Thompson and Jamie Laing shared their personal lives on Made in Chelsea, they were encouraged to kiss during a date. That’s according to the former stars, who revealed all on a podcast.
Back in the OG days, Louise Thompson and Jamie Laing dated. At that point, they were both known for dating pretty much everyone on the cast, but they’ve now hinted how producers staged a storyline.
Louise Thompson was an MIC ‘puppet’
Louise Thompson claims she was a “puppet” on Made in Chelsea. Despite this, she said on Great Company with Jamie Laing she “wouldn’t not” go back to the E4 show even now.
At the time, she thought the show “ruined her life.” However, she loved and hated being on it, as they were “constantly getting abuse online” which meant it was “hard” to go through.
Louise admits producers told her to say certain lines for the series. One of them being for her to open a door to tell Spencer Matthews, “Nice wheels.” She said, “I actually did it, it was right at the beginning. I was honestly patting their hands, I was the best.”
She recalls the moment she kissed Jamie
Jamie and Louise experienced their first kiss on a cricket ground on Made in Chelsea. He recalled how producers told him he “should kiss her” before he questioned whether she would even want to.
He said, “They were like, ‘No, no, she will’. Little did I know, they were like to you, ‘You got to kiss him.'” Louise described the staged scene as “so messed up” and said they also “had to kiss” at a party.
Since then, Jamie has gone on to marry his co-star and now-wife, Sophie “Habbs” Habboo, while Louise is engaged to her fiancé, Ryan Libbey. She shares son Leo, two, with him, who they welcomed in 2021.
‘Pushover’ on Made in Chelsea
Louise admits she was a “pushover” during her Made in Chelsea days. She recalled how she “couldn’t say no” to men, which would usually end in “them breaking up with her, cheating, and [leave her] crying for a month.”
She and Jamie recalled the memorable moment when she confronted ex-boyfriend, Spencer, for cheating on her. He told her at the time, “You allow me to cheat on you.”
Despite thinking she was a pushover, Jamie told Louise he always thought she was resilient, “as much as she cried”. He said, “What people don’t realize about reality TV is, it’s heavy on the soul.”
