Fans wondered who Marc’s wife is after his daughters hugged him for his Bread Week victory.
After GBBO baker Marc Elliott was crowned the star baker of the third week, viewers wondered where his ‘wife’ was when cameras captured his two daughters giving him a hug. Many were confused about how his family could be with him, as many of the contestants have had to isolate away from their family for weeks.
To allow for filming to go ahead and the bakers to form their own coronavirus bubble, the majority of them had to stay in Down Hall Hotel & Spa, in Essex, for seven weeks. So does Marc have a wife? Read on to find out!
Does Marc from Bake Off have a wife?
No. Marc is a single father to his two daughters. They live in Cornwall, near Padstow.
It is not known who the mother of Marc’s children is. He has not mentioned her name while on GBBO.
The Bread Week winner also has a border terrier dog, who was recently found on his Instagram eating the sour dough loaf that took Marc 24 hours to make.

Fans confused when Marc hugs daughters
As several contestants had to isolate away from their family for seven weeks ahead of filming, viewers were left confused when Marc’s two daughters hugged him. This was after he got crowned star baker for Bread Week.
However it was revealed in the first episode that Marc’s family was in the Bake Off bubble with him. Due to Marc being a single dad, they have been allowed to stay with him during his Bake Off journey. The cast were allowed to bring their partners and children to stay with them at the hotel while they were filming.
After they rushed up and hugged him, he looked surprised. He said:
I’m getting emotional now.

Marc: Family
Fans were incredibly happy for Marc getting his Bread Week victory, especially when his daughters hugged him.
He says that he decided to do Bake Off to show his two daughters that “even when life throws obstacles at you, you can rise to new challenges and develop new passions”, according to Channel 4.
He’s a support worker and single parent, and thanks to the encouragement from his daughters, he has taken up climbing again – a sport he frequently done throughout his youth.
