Chris has revealed unaired moments from his MAFS wedding, and someone set a table on fire?!

In last night’s episode of MAFS Australia, we were introduced to gay grooms Chris Robinson and Sammy Stanton during their wedding.

Though I wouldn’t go as far as to say that MAFS is stellar queer representation, the show has a pretty good history of platforming couples that aren’t in heterosexual relationships. For the 2026 series, we got fitness enthusiasts Sammy and Chris, and yes, they were quizzed about their desired bunk bed positions.

Chris, who had two kids on the way when he started filming, has since revealed moments that we didn’t get to see on the show.

In an interview with Pedestrian TV, Chris revealed that one of Sammy’s groomsmen set the table on fire at the reception.

“There were a couple of things that didn’t make it to the show,” he said. “Sam’s groomsman actually lit the table on fire.”

It was an “accident”, though, and Sammy’s groomsman was not some secret arsonist looking to ruin the reality TV nuptials.

“His hand got knocked over and the tablecloth caught on fire. We definitely thought that would have made it to the episode, but they left that part out. That was pretty iconic,” he added.

Intruder couples always get a raw deal when it comes to footage, because the show has already started without them, and producers are keen to get back to the drama. Naturally, some things have to be cut, and it looks like Chris and Sammy’s honeymoon was one such victim.

Referencing tonight’s episode on April 2, Chris explained: “I’m not sure if they’re going to show any more about our honeymoon. I’m a little bit disappointed if they don’t because there was a lot we filmed with the honeymoon over three or four days.

“[We] had a chat on the beach about the pace that we were moving at. That’s pretty critical because I was left wondering if Sam was into me because we weren’t being affectionate. So I’m not sure what’s going to happen there, but yeah, there was definitely lots left out.”

We’ll have to wait for the episode to see what is actually shown.
