Chris and Sammy reveal the x-rated question MAFS producers asked only them, and no other couples

And yes, it’s because they’re gay

Though gay couples in reality TV are far and few between, MAFS Australia introduced double intruder grooms in the form of Chris Robinson and Sammy Stanton.

I still wouldn’t exactly call it a glowing representation, but MAFS is generally pretty good at platforming couples that aren’t straight – Love Island should really take notes. For the Australian edition, we’ve seen couples like Craig Roach and Andy John, Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz, and Michael Felix and Stephen Stewart. MAFS UK has also included queer rep, but a large majority of the relationships tanked. See, queer couples are just like the heteros.

In Wednesday night’s episode, which obviously came months after it aired in Australia, we were introduced to farmer and personal trainer Chris and his new husband, former elite swimmer Sammy Stanton.

MAFS producers asked Chris and Sammy a rather spicy question

Though queer couples obviously experience many of the same issues as their straight counterparts, there are some other factors to consider when matching up two people of the same sex. Their opinions on Madonna, if they have a premium Grindr, and whether they like hot coffee or cold (trick question, the answer is always iced).

Jokes aside, MAFS producers had to ask Chris and Sammy a very serious question, and it’s something that straight people don’t even consider when trying to find their happily ever after.

“They did ask if I slept on the top bunk or the bottom bunk,” Chris joked in a joint interview with Sammy for the Daily Mail Australia.

In case you weren’t aware, top and bottom refer to the s*xual preferences of two gay men. The top is the train, the bottom is the tunnel, if you get my drift. Some people also identify as a side, meaning they’d rather not engage in penetrative bedroom activities.

Thankfully, Chris added: “I answered that question accurately — and let’s just say we were matched correctly.”

He did not reveal whether he’s a top or bottom.
