This detail in Tyson and Stephanie’s MAFS Australia wedding makes me hate him even more

I cringed so hard at Tyson’s wedding on MAFS that I feared I’d need a physiotherapist. So many of his, ahem, “conservative” views made me gag. But MAFS viewers are spotting a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it detail of Tyson and Stephanie’s MAFS Australia wedding that made me hate him even more.

Tyson’s guests at his MAFS wedding included his dad, his uncle and friends who his dad jokingly referred to as “the riff-raff”.

Now, I have scanned each frame of Tyson and Stephanie’s wedding ceremony and reception. I checked their wedding album on the Channel Nine website. I even dug up footage of the host of the MAFS Funny podcast gatecrashing this wedding back in August 2025. I cannot spot a single woman who attended as Tyson’s guest. We know Tyson does have a sister – Madison Gordon, who is a reasonably famous streamer in Australia. However, she doesn’t appear to have been at the wedding.

The MAFS bride Alissa even joked: “I am just the rose between all the thorns today, on this side.” This comment may have flown over many UK viewers’s heads. In the UK and the US “a rose among thorns” usually refers to somebody virtuous being surrounded by nasty people. But in Australia, the idiom is often used to describe a woman surrounded by men. Alissa then mumbled: “There’s a lot of man energy. Men!”

Now, it is entirely possible that Tyson has 20+ girl besties who were all sitting on the other side of wedding off-camera, or who were on a delayed flight or something and couldn’t make it. But I kind of doubt it.

Often, the intro videos of MAFS participants show them doing their jobs or hobbies with other people, or discussing relationships with their friends. In Tyson’s introduction, he plumped up cushions and read the paper in his empty, monochrome house. We didn’t see him hang out with any friends – let alone female ones.

I went through all his Instagram pictures back to February 2017, and could only see him in a group photo with a woman twice. One pic is of a family gathering, and the woman seems to be his sister. The other photo could very well be his sister too – she’s wearing sunglasses and wasn’t tagged, so I can’t be 100 per cent certain.

Now, it’s not unusual for a man to have more male friends than friends of other genders, particularly if they were in the army for six years (women currently make up just over 20 per cent of Australia’s military). Perhaps Tyson is just lacking in female relatives. But how can a 30-year-old not know one woman? Is he not on speaking terms with any girl cousins? Does he exclusively develop properties alongside men? Could none of his male friends find a woman willing to be their plus one?

Overall, I cannot find a single shred of evidence that Tyson has one female acquaintance (excluding his sister) who is willing to spend time with him. This is such a glaring red flag. Stephanie, run.
