Revealed: Woman behind Lily Allen affair song ‘Madeline’ has come forward, here’s who she is
She’s said how she feels about her texts being used in a song
The woman who allegedly had an affair with Lily Allen’s former husband David Harbour, and inspired new single Madeline, has been revealed. Last week, Lily returned with her first album in seven years. West End Girl is centred around her divorce from Stranger Things actor, David Harbour. The allegations she made are brutal.
One of the songs, called Madeline, is all about the other woman, and who David Harbour allegedly broke the rules of their open relationship arrangement with. In the song Lily said she confronted Madeline by text to ask: “How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?”.
Since then, everyone has been hunting to work out who the song is actually about. Now, MailOnline has revealed her identity as costume designer Natalie Tippett.

She is a 34-year-old single mother, who lives in New Orleans. She spoke to the outlet all about the claims. “Of course I’ve heard the song,” she is reported to have said, rolling her eyes. “But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It’s a little bit scary for me.”
According to the publication, Natalie and David met while filming the Netflix movie We Have A Ghost in 2021. She was 34, and he was 50 at the time. On location in New Orleans, Harbour was the movie’s lead, and Natalie Tippett worked in the costume department. Their affair reportedly began shortly after shooting started. Lily Allen and David Harbour had got married the year before.
It was claimed after filming for the Netflix movie ended, David flew Natalie to his home in Atlanta, and the affair continued. The whole thing was allegedly blown open when Lily found texts on David’s phone.
“So I read your text, and now I regret it,” Lily said in Tennis, on her new album. “I can’t get my head round how you’ve been playing tennis. If it was just sex, I wouldn’t be jealous. You won’t play with me and who’s Madeline?”
Speaking to MailOnline, Natalie also commented about how she feels about her texts being spoken about. She said: “I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it at the moment.”
David Harbour is yet to comment.
