People are saying ‘Leah was right’ after Divarni revealed the real reason he stayed in MAFS

Divarni shocked practically everyone on the planet during Wednesday night’s MAFS UK episode, telling the experts that he wanted to stay in his less-than-perfect marriage to Julia-Ruth.

The chemistry was alive and well during Divarni and Julia-Ruth’s wedding, but as we know, it’s been consistently downhill from there. Between rows over intimacy and Julia-Ruth weathering fame-hungry accusations, most of us are pretty certain in the belief that they won’t last. Though everyone, including the other brides and grooms, fully expected the couple to leave during Wednesday’s commitment ceremony, both Divarni and Julia-Ruth decided to stay in the experiment. Why? Absolutely no bloody idea.

Divarni has since explained his decision on Instagram, but I’m not going to lie, you’ll proboably be left feeling more confused than ever.

The whole point of MAFS UK is to find and work on a marriage to a stranger, so when that essentially fails, it’s time for you to leave the experiment. All hope seems pretty lost for Divarni and Julia-Ruth, and yet, they both decided to stay.

“No, but seriously speaking, does Divarni have a humiliation kink? STAND UP,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “If Divarni writes stay then I lose all respect for him and think he will be staying for his 15 mins like JR.”

Explaining himself on Instagram, Divarni acknowledged that he completely “misread” his wife’s intentions in the experiment.

“I decided to stay, even though I completely misread Julia-Ruth’s intentions. That realisation hurt, but it also revealed how deeply I care, and how far I’m willing to go in search of clarity,” he said.

“Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing; it means freeing myself from the weight of resentment. Staying was never about justifying anyone’s actions; it was about standing in my truth, understanding my boundaries.”

The wishy-washy statement might not have been enlightening, but some people argued it did point to Divarni’s real reason for staying: Fame.

“I think Leah called it…surely you’re both in on it,” one person wrote, referencing the to-camera interview where Leah said, “He’s absolutely f*cking delusional, I’m sorry. I actually don’t get it. I don’t get why they’re staying. At this point, I don’t even know if he’s in on it.”

Make it make sense. Just kidding, you can’t.
