The lioness doesn’t concern herself trend is all the proof we need that girlies run TikTok

Another day, another TikTok trend. I love it when the girlies pull together and crack out a brand new trend that makes us feel better than everyone else (men). The “Lioness doesn’t concern herself” TikTok trend is exactly that.

It’s a new format of video bouncing around where women are exposing things that are beneath them, or literally, do not concern them. Most examples include unhealthy sleep schedules or concerning themselves with finances on holiday. The type Bs among us are also using it to highlight that they don’t fake tan their back, or that they’re in denial about being lactose intolerance – and those videos are much funnier.

It’s become a community of girls admitting their small problems in life – after all, they’re just girls!

The audio is also a classic anthem, Dreamer by Livin’ Joy. Some of the examples are painfully relatable and the term lioness is literally just a reference to yourself, referring to the women’s sports team England Lionesses. I can’t lie, I don’t hate referring to myself as lioness.

Others have even tried to turn the lioness doesn’t concern herself TikTok trend into a flirting exercise. It’s kind of become an amnesty thing where we are all collectively admitting the things we cannot or will not put up with or keep up with – including updating LinkedIn or finishing boring TV shows.

Other examples of things that us lionesses’ don’t concern themselves with include leaving the house with a charged phone, attending their 9am or disassociating. It’s all part and parcel of being a girl.
