Just one day in, Lucinda is being dragged for how she’s acting on Love Island Games
She’s been putting on an American accent… and crying
We might only be one day into Love Island Games, but Lucinda Stafford is already being dragged. Because of course she is.
The show kicked off this week, and Lucinda is one of very few UK Islanders who are in the Fiji villa. She’s now coupled up with Tyrique, in a UK crossover I didn’t know I wanted, but now think I kind of love?
Anyway, just minutes into the show people seemingly had a lot to say about Lucinda. For a start, Lucinda seemed to be unaware of what Love Island Games actually is, and when she was introduced to the challenges the Islanders have to do, began to cry. Yep, crying in the beach hut already. Not the best start.
Lucinda said she’s not a “fighter” and didn’t want to face the first challenge on the show. She said: “I’m not going to a duel, I hate fighting. Everyone’s here for competition.” Did anyone explain to her that this is a competition show? She then wiped away tears, and added: “I just don’t think I got the memo.” Yeah, definitely not.

One person reacted to the moment and said: “Lucinda baby I’m going to hold your hand when I say this … you do understand the show is called LI GAMES!?”.
She’s also being ripped into for “forgetting she’s British” and putting on an accent in the villa. To be honest, I think anything is better than the “reeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy” we had to endure.

The show has people from different Love Island franchises all over the world. In one clip, where Lucinda (from Brighton) sounded particularly American, she said: “I love an international guy.” She was actually talking about Ty, also from the UK, and added: “Wait are you talking about Ty, wait guys I actually feel the sexual tension already.”
Replying to the clip, one person said: “Why is Lucinda doing an American accent?” Someone else said they had to “look twice” at who was speaking, because they’d assumed it was one of the Love Island USA cast members.
Yikes.
