These 25 UK unis have the most employable grads in 2025 – but barely any are Russell Group

Oxford isn’t even on the list

New league tables reveal which UK unis have the most employable grads in 2025, but barely any Russell Group unis made the list. Awks.

In University Compare‘s new “UK university employability rankings”, only five of the top 25 unis are Russell Group. This is super surprising, since loads of UK uni students pick Russell Group unis in the hope that the added prestige will make it easier to get a grad job.

The University of Cambridge, University of Liverpool, University of Nottingham, University of Manchester and Queen Mary University of London are the only Russell Group unis in the top 25. The University of Oxford was way, way below Cambridge, in 47th place. Yikes.

University Compare comes up with all its rankings by combining data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA)’s graduate outcomes survey with reviews from students. The site assigned each UK uni an “employability score” to compare them. So, these rankings take into account what students really think of their uni, and if they think their degree has helped with their future plans.

So, here are the 25 UK unis which produce the most employable grads in 2025, according to University Compare:
