Hang on, who is Isaac Night in Wednesday season two? The wild lore behind zombie Slurp

The rest of Wednesday season two has finally dropped on Netflix, and some people are confused about who Isaac Night actually is.

We are first introduced to Isaac as a zombie called Slurp, who Wednesday’s brother Pugsley befriends. However, at the end of the series, we find out he’s actually called Isaac.

The character is played by actor Owen Painter, known for his role in The Handmaid’s Tale, but who is Isaac Night?

It’s all explained in the final episode of Wednesday part two, but if you’re impatient or have watched the finale and are still a bit confused, here’s the full lore.

So, who actually is Isaac Night in Wednesday season two on Netflix?

Isaac was a student at Nevermore 30 years ago, when Wednesday’s parents Morticia and Gomez were at school there. He is also the brother of Tyler’s mum, Francoise Galpin, and was famous for his inventions at school.

He mysteriously died in an explosion in his lab. He was testing a machine that he built to try and cure his sister from the Hyde disease, which later killed her.

Gomez and Isaac were roommates, and Isaac asked Wednesday’s dad for help to work the Hyde-curing machine, because he needed his electricity power to run it. He accepted, completely unaware it meant he was going to die.

Morticia saved Gomez, but it led to a huge explosion, which killed Isaac. Gomez was also left without any powers forever. Wednesday’s parents buried Isaac in the Nevermore Cemetery, hoping their secret would never be outed.

In the most shocking part yet, we then find out that Thing is actually Isaac’s hand. When Morticia saved Gomez, she cut off Isaac’s hand, and his name is an anagram of his surname “Night”.

Slurp needs his body part to regain access to his powers, which is why he’s been on the hunt for Thing all along.
