Omg! McDonald’s just confirmed the EXACT date Monopoly is returning, and it’s so close

The weather is blistering, and Autumn is fast approaching, so that must mean it’s time for the time-honoured national tradition of McDonald’s Monopoly.

As you’ll no doubt already know, because it’s a pretty staple part of growing up in the UK, McDonald’s Monopoly is an annual game that allows customers to win everything from cash to holidays, free food to literal cars. The game, which usually runs for six weeks, works by customers peeling off stickers on the front of their food packaging. By building property blocks, like the actual board game, people can accumulate rewards into even bigger prizes.

According to The Sun’s report, these Maccies items had the stickers on last year.

Though I’ve never actually won anything of note – besides the odd portion of fries here and there – there’s a strange wholesomeness to peeling off the stickers, which are usually discarded in the footwell of your car. Now, according to the same article, we have just a few weeks to wait.

We’re not playing around this year, so here are some tips to ensure that you conquer McDonald’s Monopoly when it returns in just a few weeks.

All victories require a devastating sacrifice, and if you want to up your chances of bagging those big prizes, you’re going to need to swap your fries for, I’m sorry, salad, vegetables, or a fruit bag. Fries only come with two stickers, but the healthier options get three following backlash that accused McDonald’s of encouraging unhealthy eating.

Once you get one of the stickers, there’s a QR code that takes you to a little game on the mobile McDonald’s app. There are usually two cash prizes up for grabs per minute, and non-cash prizes are “allocated across the hours in that day at random subject to due weighting to take account of anticipated rates of game-play at different times of the day.”

The final tip is straight-up robbery. Some people don’t play the game and leave their stickers lying around, so why shouldn’t you make use of them?
