Harry’s friend just revealed what he actually said to Helena that Love Island edited out

Last night was one of the best episodes of family and friends coming in to Love Island since the show began, mostly because this lot had no qualms with letting their opinions on the Islanders and the behaviour of their children be known. Thank god for opinionated vessels who can say what we’ve all been thinking! Hallelujah, in fact. Not everyone was particularly forthcoming though – and Dejon’s family in particular were rinsed online for basically defending their son’s actions. Harry’s friend seemed at one point to support Helena over Shakira, but now he’s spoken out about what it was actually like to be there in the Love Island villa and what really went down that we didn’t see.

Harry Hugo, the best friend of Harry who came in with the controversial Islander’s mum, spoke more on Twitter about what it was actually like being there and what didn’t make the cut. Namely, how the chat with Helena went down.

Harry Hugo said: “Loved the experience of being in there and meeting everyone. The Love Island team behind the scenes do an amazing job and really have made a great series this year.” Addressing the bit where he was talking to Helena, he said “this clip I said to Helena that it would never have worked romantically with her and Harry, they were just great mates on a holiday romance but their banter is the same and that’s why she’d fit in to our wider friendship group (of 8 couples) / it 100 per cent wasn’t me telling her that she’s a better fit than Shakira. I said the opposite to her face.”

He also explained “both Julia (Harry’s mum) and I called Harry out for his behaviour and him being inconsiderate of others feelings with his actions” and said they “called out people around him that didn’t help him at his lowest but he’s been there for them at theirs, joked and laughed with Shakira and her family about Harry’s dreadful wardrobe and speedos. She has since banned him from wearing them.” Speedo hate train remains strong.

Harry’s friend Harry also said that on Love Island he “agreed with Shakira’s family that Harry has a lot of work to do both now and on the outside to prove the doubters wrong. It was clear spending an hour with them, that Shakira and Harry are really into each other and I can’t wait to see how he tries to make amends.” Quite sweet, really.

Final bit of insight he gave was that the villa was “small” and “hot”. Get that bastard air con on, I say!
