Ozzy Osbourne’s family releases heartbreaking statement after rock legend’s death aged 76
He was ‘surrounded by love’ in his final moments
Following the death of legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, his family has shared a deeply emotional statement. They paid tribute to the Black Sabbath frontman, whose passing has shaken people worldwide. The iconic musician passed away yesterday (July 22), just two weeks after delivering a powerful farewell performance in Birmingham.
Known as the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy redefined heavy metal. He influenced generations of musicians. He passed away at the age of 76, surrounded by those closest to him.
The performance at Villa Park marked the end of an era. Ozzy was seen on stage one final time. The concert, titled Back to the Beginning, was a charity event benefiting Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s. It was a cause close to his heart following his own diagnosis.
Tributes have poured in since the news broke, with fellow musicians, fans, and friends celebrating his life and musical legacy. Black Sabbath simply wrote on Instagram, “Ozzy forever.” While Elton John called him “a dear friend and a huge trailblazer… a true legend.”
His daughter Kelly also shared behind-the-scenes moments from that final show on Instagram. She called it a magical goodbye. “I can’t even write this without tears streaming down my face,” she said.
Now, his family have shared their first joint statement, and it’s nothing short of devastating.
It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.
We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.
