This Love Island 2025 cast member knows a former winner and got secret advice before the villa

Is this cheating?

A Love Island 2025 cast member knows a former winner of the show, and has revealed they got some advice ahead of going into the villa.

It’s a very regular thing for new Islanders to know former cast members. The ITV casting circle appears to be pretty small. This year, one Islander who knows someone well is Conor. And not just anyone, he knows a winner!

Conor is friends with 2019 Islander, Greg O’Shea. Conor is a 25-year-old rugby player from Limerick. He met winner Greg through rugby, and the boys are quite close. Greg is also a rugby player, and is from Limerick too.

He told The Tab he spoke to Greg ahead of Love Island, and asked him for some advice. I mean, Greg won alongside Amber, so his advice would probably go down well.

“I spoke to him, and the main thing he said was just to be yourself,” Conor told The Tab. “He said it’s a really really cool experience, and said I’ll enjoy it.”

He said Greg told him Love Island is an “experience that not many people get” and advised him to “enjoy it and take it day by day.” In their chat, Greg told Conor: “And if you be yourself, you can’t really go too far out.” Greg very cheekily added: “My advice might be a bit different because I won.” Ok we get it!

Maybe he should take Greg’s advice for life in the villa, but not so much afterwards. Amber and Greg broke up just five weeks after they left the villa. Apparently, Amber was left gutted after Greg dumped her by text. Yikes. Not the best look.

Ahead of the show, when asked what kind of person he’s looking for, Conor said: “Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic. I like dark eyes and I don’t mind a dominant woman.” His biggest ick is someone who is “too needy”.
