Beloved TikTok grandma with millions of followers dies at 91 and people are heartbroken

Everyone’s favourite British TikTok grandma Norma Burton has died, and people are flooding social media with lovely tributes.

The 91-year-old was known for filming funny videos with her granddaughter Jess, and they racked up more than 2.6 million followers on TikTok and 700,000 on Instagram over the past few years.

Jess announced that her grandmother had passed away in a heartbreaking statement on Monday (9th June), writing: “05/06/2025 the day our family lost our rock, our everything, our beautiful, precious, perfect lady. We are all truly devastated and our lives will never be the same.”

“We want you all to know that Nan fell to sleep peacefully, surrounded by all her family, she was full of love and had the most beautiful care,” she continued.

“If anyone deserves a place in heaven, it’s you Nanny Norma. Social media and our community online made Nan’s last years so incredibly special, her cup was full and in her own words she lived such a wonderful life.”

“91 years was never going to be enough and she has left the biggest hole in all of our hearts. Reunited with her husband and family, until we meet again, our queen,” the statement added.

People were getting concerned for Norma as the much-loved duo hadn’t posted on TikTok in over a month, and tributes are now flooding social media after the nation lost their nan.

“The joy Norma brought will stay with everyone! What an amazing lady! I’m so sorry for your loss… sending so much love,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Jess, I’m so so sorry. Norma was an amazing lady that certainly made me smile every time I saw her pop up on my phone . Go easy with yourself. Sending you so much love to you and your family.”

Others are asking Jess to set up a GoFundMe so that everyone can “slip a cheeky £10” like she used to do for Jess in the videos. TikTok won’t be the same without her!
