Urgh, a whole nine months have passed since we were blessed with a new season of Netflix’s Selling Sunset. Usually we’d have a new season by now. However, there’s actually a very valid reason why it’s taking so long for season nine of Selling Sunset to land on Netflix. Here’s a look at when the new season of Selling Sunset is likely to air, and why it’s been delayed.

What a relief. Netflix reportedly renewed the show in November. Amanza posted this TikTok in November 2024 that hinted filming had already started.

Filming was paused for a while

Jason Oppenheim revealed in January that they’d stopped filming season nine of Selling Sunset for a while, due to the horrific Los Angeles wildfires. He told Business Insider: “I don’t know if or how we’ll address it on camera. We’ve paused filming so we can focus on our efforts right now.”

The Los Angeles wildfire crisis really affected the Selling Sunset cast. Chrishell and Brett were told to evacuate their homes. Several clients of The Oppenheim Group lost their houses. The agents offered to find new homes for free for anyone whose houses burned down.

In February, Nicole shared a behind-the-scenes video of her filming Selling Sunset season nine. So, filming must have resumed by then.

When will season nine of Selling Sunset come out?

Long story short, we don’t know. Netflix hasn’t released a trailer yet. Now, by my calculations, an average of 9.29 months generally passes between seasons of Selling Sunset. Season eight came out in September 2024. It sounds as if filming for season nine was paused for approximately a month. So, logically speaking, it seems likely that season nine will come out in autumn 2025?

Who will be in season nine of Selling Sunset?

Chrishell did threaten to leave because she hates Nicole so much, but she agreed to return after she was offered a pay rise. I am not making this up. In August 2024, Chrishell wrote on her Instagram that she will never work with Nicole again. But two months later, she told Pedestrian.TV: “Obviously, I have very strong feelings about her that I stand 10 toes down on and I don’t take any of that back. However, I am also a businesswoman. I always will be able to change my mind if you add a zero. So listen, I hate her, but if you are going to pay me a ton of money to go say it to her face, then write the check!”

Mary told TooFab she believed the main season eight cast members would all return for season nine of Selling Sunset.

So far, Amanza Smith, Chelsea Lazkani, Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Jason Oppenheim, Mary Bonnet and Nicole Young have confirmed they’re in it.
