Right, here’s the idyllic spot where controversial new reality show Virgin Island was filmed

If you didn’t get seated for the latest Channel 4 venture Virgin Island last night, then I’m not sure what the hell you were doing but I can tell you for a fact you absolutely missed out. It truly was the most Channel 4 reality TV show to ever be a Channel 4 show, as the latest reality TV saga flew 12 virgins out to Virgin Island – a secluded retreat in Croatia. The plan there is for the lot of them to try and lose their virginity, or failing that at least feel prepared to do so when they come back to the UK with a bit more knowledge about how to get laid. The retreat itself looked absolutely beautiful, and I found where Channel 4 filmed Virgin Island on a secluded isle off Croatia so here’s where it was shot and all the chaos went down.

Okay, this may come as a shock to you – but the place where Virgin Island on Channel 4 was filmed is not actually called Virgin Island on a map. I know, I know. Shocking. To complicate things of course the Virgin Islands are a real place, but that’s a different thing altogether. Keep up.

Channel 4 and most other publications have of course said it was filmed on an island off Croatia, but I’ve worked out exactly where the show was filmed and it’s on a privately owned island with its own resort!

Just off Croatia, the show was filmed on Obonjan island. This island is the home to the Obonjan Island Resort Croatia, which is as idyllic as it looks in the actual show when you don’t have awkward people in their early 20s panicking about the concept of someone touching their knee.

The website for the resort claims it’s Croatia’s only private island luxury retreat, and says “Located in the Šibenik Archipelago in Dalmatia, Obonjan is a relaxing island that spans only 136 acres. Surrounded by the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea and secluded enough to avoid the stresses of everyday life, it offers a natural remedy to escape the worries of the world.”

The show continues airing on Mondays and Tuesdays across the next few weeks, so stay tuned to see how much action Obonjan Island is going to see!
