Netflix just released chilling trailer for its next true crime but it’s been flooded with complaints

Netflix has just released a trailer for its next true crime documentary series, but it’s already been flooded with complaints. Today (April 16th) Netflix revealed it is exploring the chilling case of Fred and Rose West.

Fred and Rosemary West are notorious serial killers, who killed at least 12 people. The murders took place between 1967 and 1987, in Gloucestershire. It’s believed the couple may have killed more, and their total number of victims isn’t 100 per cent known.

The couple raped, tortured and murdered an unknown number of people. When police were eventually led to the couple’s “House of Horrors” at 25 Cromwell Street, they discovered the bodies of nine girls. Three further bodies were later found elsewhere. Among their twelve known victims was their eldest daughter Heather, and Fred West’s eight-year-old stepdaughter, Charmaine.

Now, Netflix is releasing a true crime series about the case. Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story will be released on May 14th. The trailer has just dropped on Netflix’s YouTube, and the comments section is filled with people questioning the choice.

The synopsis for the trailer reads: “Recently discovered police recordings and first-person accounts tell the story of Fred and Rose West, two of the UK’s most prolific murderers.”

In the comments, one person said: “Is there only me who feels like this shouldn’t be made?”. Another added: “Another one?? Jesus let it go!!”. It seems a lot of people are frustrated that yet another series has been made about such a horrific case. There have already been documentaries and films across a number of channels that retell what Fred and Rose West did.

Another blasted the whole ethics of true crime in general. “I have no idea why people enjoy watching sick things like this. Someone please enlighten me how you get joy from watching this?,” they said.
