A lip reader just revealed what Morgan Wallen really said before the walking off SNL drama
The abrupt storm off caused a lot of backlash online
In the wake of all the Morgan Wallen drama that came after this week’s SNL, the internet hasn’t really packed it in analysing what might have lead to the fact he stormed off Saturday Night Live before he was actually supposed to. In case you’ve missed it, usually what happens on SNL is that the guests will linger around, hug, interact as the credits for the show roll. Morgan Wallen was the musical guest of the week – alongside recent Oscar winner Mikey Madison who was hosting. What’s also got people talking about this entire saga though is how there was some whispering that we didn’t get to hear, and thankfully we got some insight into what Morgan Wallen might have said in the SNL scandal thanks to a lip reader and her expert analysis.
The insight of a lip reader into the Morgan Wallen SNL fiasco
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, lip reader Nicola Hickling has given The Tab her expert insight into what she thinks Morgan Wallen, Mikey Madison and other cast members might have said as he walked off the set abruptly.
The lines Nicola deciphered are as follows:
Morgan Wallen says: “Thank you all so much – I had a wonderful time thank you all mwah mwah mwah.”
Mikey Madison says: “Chatting to you was really good.”
Colin Jost says: “You gotta remember how he is feeling.”
Besides the rather mysterious line from Colin Jost, if Nicola is spot on with this analysis then there likely wasn’t much of a fuss after all and it was, as Morgan Wallen’s team have implied, an honest mistake.
An ‘oops’ moment

According to a report by Variety, there was no bad blood. Morgan Wallen did two songs on SNL and apparently the reason he walked off towards the camera was just an accident that was down to the fact he’d apparently rehearsed exiting that way the entire week.
In what was described as an “oops” moment, he apparently simply was just not thinking about the fact that the cameras were rolling.
People are dubious however, because as soon as he’d departed the show he put a picture on his Instagram story of his plane and it simply said “Get me to god’s own country”. Which I’m pretty sure is Yorkshire. Although I’m assuming he’s referring to an American equivalent.
His actions sparked a big social media backlash
The Twitter furore to Morgan Wallen walking off has been massive. “Morgan Wallen proving once again he has ZERO self control…storming off the stage before the credits even rolled. Hope the tantrum was worth it because you’ll NEVER be on SNL again,” one person wrote.
“Morgan Wallen is the first musical guest or host on SNL that I can recall who just walked off stage during ‘goodnights’ before the credits even started to roll,” another said.
A third tweeted: “That was the strangest SNL ending credits I’ve ever seen? Stage empty…standing far behind them and Morgan Wallen just walking off before the credits even started rolling.”
As of time of publishing, Morgan Wallen has yet to comment publicly on the whole fiasco.
