Morgan Wallen’s team explain his controversial ‘walk off’ from SNL after a load of backlash
His shady Instagram story stirred up more drama
Singer Morgan Wallen caused a stir after SNL this weekend when he walked directly off the set, towards the camera, as the credits rolled. Morgan Wallen, who was on the show as the musical guest alongside host Mikey Madison, did not adhere to the usual niceties of hugging the rest of the week’s cast before leaving the set. Morgan Wallen departing SNL in the manner that he did caused big backlash and has been viral over the weekend as people question if there were rumblings of drama behind the scene – and that’s before he did an Instagram story that had people questioning it all further. But sources from inside camp Morgan Wallen say it was just an accident.
An ‘oops’ moment
According to a report by Variety, there was no bad blood. Morgan Wallen did two songs on SNL and apparently the reason he walked off towards the camera was just an accident that was down to the fact he’d apparently rehearsed exiting that way the entire week.
In what was described as an “oops” moment, he apparently simply was just not thinking about the fact that the cameras were rolling.
People are dubious however, because as soon as he’d departed the show he put a picture on his Instagram story of his plane and it simply said “Get me to god’s own country”. Which I’m pretty sure is Yorkshire. Although I’m assuming he’s referring to an American equivalent.
His actions sparked a big social media backlash
